Atmore is a small progressive city with a strong sense of community. You will find the people of Atmore friendly and eager to include newcomers. In the last four years Atmore has experienced significant commercial and industrial growth, however, southern hospitality still thrives in our town and we are proud of it!

Located between the metropolitan areas of Mobile and Pensacola, Atmore retains a small town, rural style of living. We are proud of our clubs, churches and organizations that offer many social and volunteer opportunities for those citizens who like being an active part of their community. A local YMCA chapter and city recreational program offers many events for children and adults. We are equally proud of our low crime rate which allows us to work and raise our families in a safe environment. 

Local schools include a public school system, private and Christian schools, as well as a technical school and a community college. Sixteen physicians who presently have practices in Atmore support our local, 52 bed hospital.

Our mild Southern climate makes it easy for you to enjoy golf, fishing, hunting, tennis, camping, canoeing - almost any outdoor activity - all year round. From spring times filled with dogwoods and azaleas, summers of garden fresh vegetables and trips to the nearby Gulf beaches, falls filled with football, hunting and festivals and winters mild enough to enjoy.
