Elberta is the home of the famous Elberta Sausage Festival, which is held the last Saturday of each March and October to celebrate the city's rich German heritage; the Festival draws thousands of visitors to the area for a taste of authentic German Sausage and other dishes.  It was founded in 1905 by the Baldwin County Colonization Company. Elberta has deep agricultural roots which are evident in the Baldwin County Heritage Museum.  Currently, there is a growing supply of healthcare providers in the area via new medical facilities.
